MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - THE FINAL RECKONING (2025) REVIEW RATING: 3.5 OUT OF 5 We’ve followed the Mission: Impossible series all the way through, and if this really is the last one, we were hoping it’d go out with explosions and all. These movies have always raised the bar for action, and this one looked like it was going to take it even further. I went in hoping for something epic, something that would really honor everything that came before, and what I got seriously blew me away. From the very first scene, The Final Reckoning takes off and never slows down. It doesn’t ease you in, it just grabs you and keeps going. The stakes are huge right away, with Ethan and the IMF team trying to track down the last pieces of the plan to stop The Entity once and for all. You can feel the end coming. Every scene has this urgency to it, the story, the characters, the pacing, it all feels like it’s building up to something massive, like a fuse burning down to an explosion. The sequence in this movie is just crazy. It might be the most intense and physically exhausting film I’ve ever seen, and that’s definitely a good thing. There were moments where I actually forgot to breathe, especially in one scene where Ethan has to navigate a submarine wreck deep underwater. It’s dark, cold, and disorienting, and the way they filmed it really makes you feel all of that. It’s a perfect example of how to build tension, and the stakes feel super real. And then there’s the plane chase… just insane. Ethan gets caught up in a wild plane chase, and what happens next in the air is out of control. We’re talking insane stunts, a brutal fight on the wing, and action that’s so over the top it makes other movies look tame. I wasn’t expecting how emotional the movie would be. It’s not just a thrilling action ride; it’s also a story about the characters and what they go through. You can really feel the weight of everything Ethan has experienced and the sacrifices he’s made to protect the world. Between all the chaos, there are quieter moments that make you reflect on legacy, loyalty, and what it means to always be the one running toward danger. The Mission: Impossible films wouldn’t be what they are without Tom Cruise’s dedication to the role and his love for cinema, nearly thirty years since he first lit the fuse. Once again, as Ethan Hunt, he gives a performance full of determination and physical effort that’s hard not to admire. Cruise has always had an underrated comedic side, and he brings that to Ethan once again, even with the stakes higher than ever. After eight films, Mission: Impossible The Final Reckoning marks the end of one of the most iconic action franchises. After a slow start, the movie picks up and delivers some incredible action sequences and classic world-saving moments. Whether they’ll continue the franchise without Tom Cruise is anyone’s guess, but honestly, a Mission: Impossible movie without him is a mission nobody should accept.
