Minecraft is a game everyone has heard and played at least once in their life, and now we have it as a live action movie with a star studded cast that boosted everyone to wanna catch the film despite being a fan or not. Firstly Let’s start with the positives of the movie, which is definitely catering to the younger audiences and hardcore fans of the Minecraft games who knows each and every characters to inventory from the game itself it will be a treat and delight for them as there are exciting cameos which I only figured from everyone screaming in the cinema that they were game references. The visual effects and graphics were phenomenal to catch on the big screens that it felt like you were put into the outworld itself which was interesting to see especially with the time zones where the zombies arrive and attack your world as well as some of the cute animals like the Wolves and the bees which would be great in 3D visuals The choice of having Jack Black and Jason Mamoa together in a film was a great idea as they were hilarious throughout giving you laugh out loud moments that weren’t forced they were actually funny although some humour might be too much for the younger audiences. The chemistry between the two of them made the film more delightful to watch and also Jack black was just playing himself as usual goofy and silly with his songs. The negatives for this movie would be that there were too many main characters that at one point you couldn’t identify who’s actually the main Protagonist or supporting as all of them felt like a main character even the supporting cast. The storyline of the film was simple with a short run time that none of the characters had a depth nor an emotional connection for the audiences to relate with although there were some good life lessons learnt for both the little ones and the adults to learn from.
